The booking process…
I found the booking process to be very helpful. We discussed the areas of wildlife which were of interest to me and built a package around this. The process was supportive and clear. As a first time Safari trip for me the help and support was very important. Such help was provided which I very much appreciated. The whole process was friendly and personal.
The accommodations & activities…
The accommodation was absolutely fantastic. First class staff service at both lodges. First class food also. The rooms were exceptional and beautifully maintained. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was extremely friendly. The game drives were well planned with very helpful, knowledgeable guides. The guides clearly knew their subject and had a lot of information to share. I personally, have learned loads thanks the guides and trackers. The actual game drives were full of surprises and were also fun. Lots of opportunities for photos. The guides did their best to find a sighting of your choice and helped with the photography too. All very lovely.
Your overall experience with Captured In Africa…
My overall experience with Captured in Africa has been perfect. Everything planned very well and a very friendly inclusive service. They were always on hand for any questions. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely book with Captured in Africa again and have indeed recommended them to all my friends. They were there in the process from beginning to end. Absolutely loved it.

The booking process:
From my first email enquiring about the itinerary and availability, to your last welcome home email I can say that Captured In Africa were incredibly responsive - often replying immediately (pretty awesome considering the time difference!). All my questions were answered, and any concerns were addressed immediately. I was very grateful to both Paul and Drew for their photographic tips (to a novice!!) and for the practical suggestions from Paul on what to take, what to leave at home - and especially the recommendations to do the walking safari at Naboisho. It was incredible - I took the opportunity to also do an evening walking safari at Sayari - which ended with a glass of champagne at a surprise pop up bar at the Hippo Pools on the banks of the Mara - absolutely magic!!
The service:
Above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for your patience in answering my seemingly relentless questions promptly! I also appreciate you facilitating the unexpected accommodation change after Ubuntu was damaged in the storm! Everything went smoothly.
Camps and Lodges:
Ololo Lodge (Nairobi National Park) - was lovely, great hosts, great staff, great location.
Naboisho Camp (Mara Naboisho Conservancy) - was incredible, Moses and Jenny were excellent - I loved the meals, the fireplace/lounge in the evening, the staff were all lovely. I somehow scored the family tent (7) - it was huge! Loved the bucket shower and hearing the lions through the night My two guides, Benjamin and Evaline were wonderful. Benjamin and I experienced some incredible sightings including a lion kill (2 lionesses and a male) - more special to me as we were the only jeep to witness it, including the male dragging the carcass into a gully. Wonderful conversations with Ben over sundowners witnessing electrical storms on the 360 degree Mara horizon is something I will never forget.
Sayari Camp (Northern Serengeti) - The tent was incredible - the view out to the table mountains was beautiful - and the herd of elephants walking past my tent was pretty awesome. The staff were great, the meals fantastic. My guide Alex was a beautiful person, very funny, very knowledgable and a great Swahili teacher! I thoroughly enjoyed our bonnet breakfasts and two crossings (after a four hour and two hour wait!) We had incredible sightings - three leopards, (no other jeeps around) a serval cat, day old ostrich chicks…. I think I enjoyed our last evening drive the best - we drove in between some kopjes and found a pride of at least 15 lions including cubs, sleeping on the rocks. We decided to just park up and listen and watch which we did for over an hour - on our own. It was beautiful.
Namiri Plains (Eastern Serengeti) - This place is incredible. I love the remoteness, the staff (Epimark and Diana and all the kitchen and wait staff were professional and great fun), my tent was great - wonderful view, and I loved the outdoor shower. Loved the firepit, outside dining etc. On our last night we sat around the fire, listening to lions roaring, watching lightning arcing inside storm clouds - I can’t explain how absolutely incredible this was!! Ngamba and Patena were fantastic guides - wonderful sightings including leopards (a cheetah chasing off a leopard from her tiny cub), a mother cheetah teaching her cubs how to kill a baby gazelle 🙁 and of course the cheetah cub on the bonnet and the lion strolling past my tent on my last morning! I am so glad I stayed here - away from the other camps - it really felt like we had the whole of the eastern Serengeti to ourselves. Just a wonderful, special place.
I certainly feel that I have chosen an ethical and responsible company that truly values conservation and the importance of protecting our natural world, as I do. I know that the wildlife and communities within the conservancies I visited have benefited. I will definitely be in contact to book my next Africa trip - I am so tempted to just repeat what I have just experienced - especially Namiri - I think about it every day (I took an audio recording of the lions roaring near my tent - I play it every night!!).

It’s comforting to know that they have it all under control. The team were even contactable when we were in Victoria Falls and we had issues with one of the planes landing late and we had to reschedule one of our transfers. It all went very smoothly and we couldn’t be happier. Captured in Africa will always help out whenever they can to accommodate to your budget and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else but them to book your Africa needs through. Thanks in particular to Paul & Drew for their recommendations and constant support. Thanks guys! Chat to you about next year soon! Namibia, Victoria Falls & South Africa (May 2016)

The booking and co-ordination by Captured in Africa was great. It was n welcome surprize when we received VIP treatment and assistance landing at MAUN airport...it made the whole excercise of refuelling and clearing customs and immigrations a breeze! The prompt and clear communication during the reservation process was handled efficiently and professionally to say the least. - Okavango Delta (February 2016)

We returned home yesterday, what an amazing trip! The lodge was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was ready and waiting for us as we arrived late. Rachel was given her own luxury tent which was not a part of the reservation. We wanted for nothing, all we had to do was enjoy the breathtaking views of the Mighty Zambezi, the delicious meals, and the all-inclusive day trips. We could not have asked for anything more. Captured in Africa did not disappoint as I knew you wouldn't! We had an unforgettable stay thanks to you! - Victoria Falls (April 2016)

First class, amazing, accommodating. There aren't enough Adjectives to describe you guys. It's very daunting traveling 12,000km to a foreign nation, but you made sure everything was set up to perfection. Rides were waiting for us, flights were set up and everything went without a glitch. Pretty amazing and I really can't thank you enough. - Kruger Park Private Concession & Sabi Sands (April 2016)

Thanks so much for the amazing experience I have had!
Cape Town
“Thanks so much for the amazing experience I have had at the Cape Town Hollow Boutique Hotel. The room was beautiful, the view amazing, the service and food excellent! Very friendly staff.
Thanks for Captured In Africa team’s trouble in sending our guide for the Hermanus tour to pick us up at the Car rental place. That made life much easier for us!
Hermanus tour: I loved the whole trip seeing our beautiful Western Cape coast through a tourist’s eyes. Everywhere I went, I was surrounded by foreigners enjoying our beautiful country. The Stoney Point Experience with the penguins was so special, considering we had seen penguins at Boulder’s Beach the previous day to be surrounded by 7000 of moulting penguins sitting around. We enjoyed the short wine-tasting stop in Onrus, our two + hours in Hermanus.
Shamwari Game Reserve
An experience out of this world! I’ve been once with my husband and remember it as absolutely incredible, but I was absolutely bowled away this time as soon as we stepped out of the car!
The food we had was really five-star, extremely well-prepared, looked stunning and tasted delicious!
Bayethe Tented Lodge at Shamwari: We were both sorry we did not have more time in our room! What absolute luxury! It was wonderful. I swam in the plunge pool, had a lovely hot bath after dinner and a stunning outside shower, closely observed by a Nyala mom and her calf.
Game drives at Shamwari: Jacques is excellent. He has been at Shamwari for 6 years. He showed us such incredible animals, it was a fantastic experience. I will go with him again if I have the opportunity.
To have seen a cheetah mom teach her cubs to hunt, three full bellied, lazy lionesses, many white rhino, giraffe to sitting amongst a herd of elephant (I’ve read up about them, the M-group, with baby Maxwell, only 18 days old at that time…) and then the highlight, an aggressive black rhino male chasing a whole herd of elephant away and then charging at us as well…. Oh wow!!!
Shamwari rehabilitation centre: Megan, the vet nurse, gave us a lot of amazing information. Shamwari is of course where the rescued Rhino ‘Hope’ is being treated and although she isn’t on the visitor’s tour, the Save the Survivors foundation is doing amazing work for this rescue and all the other rhino they work with.”

“Captured In Africa organized our trip to Cape Town and safari in the Sabi Sands and the trip exceeded our expectations.
The recommended accommodations from Captured In Africa were fantastic and the itinerary gave us a nice mix between viewing scenery and game. Drew handled things from beginning to end and the trip which was much appreciated given that we live on the other side of the planet.
I will definitely use Captured in Africa for my next trip to Africa”

“Your team was awesome and went over and above the call to get my safari booked, I just did not have the time at that point.
The camp was great. I have no complaints. People were fantastic and geared for client satisfaction. They rocked. Every person on the team oozed passion for their job, they are an amazing team.
Captured In Africa’s professional photographer host was good. I tried new techniques and had good results.
I have travelled with other operators before and none had the personal touch of Captured in Africa. The little details make the biggest impression. The camps / lodges always put in this effort, Captured in Africa are the first hosts to pay attention to detail and personal touch.
Everything was good about my experience and would definitely recommend Captured In Africa to friends, family and colleagues.
I am impressed with Captured in Africa, and loved the experience.”

“We have recently returned from a trip of a lifetime.
We travelled to South Africa from Canada with our family--6 adults and four granddaughters. A logistical nightmare, right? Not for CAPTURED IN AFRICA. Drew Abrahamson, owner operator of this premier travel agency specializing in safari & photographic tours of Africa, calmly took care of all the details including everyone's dietary issues and everyone's wish list. And the venues she chose for us were superb. Thank you Drew and Captured In Africa, for fulfilling dreams.
LAWHILL LUXURY APARTMENTS. Located in Cape Town's fabulous waterfront. The location is perfect, the setting--beneath the mountain--is lovely, the accommodations are five-star and worked beautifully for all of us. And the staff was extremely obliging. We found the reception office - open 24 hours - very helpful in arranging tours, transportation and answering questions. We would definitely recommend LAWHILL with Captured In Africa to our friends.
INYATI. The safari at Inyati was the highlight for all ten members of our party. Apart from the comfortable accommodations, good food and picturesque setting, the game drives were superb. Our ranger was knowledgeable, informative and knew exactly how to wait for the perfect sighting. His experience - and that of the tracker's - made our experience unforgettable. Thank you, Khembali and Norman - and Inyati - we would love to come back to you with Captured In Africa.”

“Many thanks to you and your team for the quintessential safari of a lifetime.
I cannot begin to explain how awesome the trip was. Your professional handling from beginning to end was world class - touché!
The camp was unpretentious, minimalistic yet comfortable and spacious. The rooms had a great touch with almost antique stainless steel fittings, the bed was massive!!! I could fit my whole family in there!
The staff were beyond exceptional. Every member of staff introduced themselves and went the extra mile for us. Pierre's culinary talents were well received and the meals were the crème de resistance after a full day in the bush.
Antoinette told us about the 111 Club - finding 111 confirmed sightings of different species of birds on your holiday - something which guest often do between Selinda and Duba over their holiday - being rewarded with "Membership to the club with a 111 Cap". Well, being the competitive soul I am, and my mate even more so, we smashed through this in a new record at Duba in 2 Game Drives!!!! What an experience to bird watch again when I thought I was passed it.
Our game drives were insane - Lions hunting Buff, Lions attacking Lions, Elephant herds, plains of Lechwe, we tracked and found our own leopard that had killed and dragged a Wattled Crane into a thicket, returned later that afternoon to see an insane kill of this leopard on a young kudu bull. Unfortunately so fast no vid or pics - only after the event. INCREDIBLE!
Mo was our guide and his understudy BT. We shared a very special time on drives, fishing, boating and birding - we also took the guys on a scenic flight over the concession and we could not wipe the smile off BT's face! He was in his element. I couldn't resist and dived steeply for a wingover - his face was a picture to behold..... when we landed at the strip he gave me the biggest hug any human being has ever given me - I believe we gave him an experience that he will cherish for his entire life!
Thank you for a mind blowing experience. I will certainly be doing many more of my bush adventures with your company.”
